Closing down sale

Story will be having a closing down sale throughout December so if you fancy some xmas bargains head down to the store before the end of December when we will close our doors for the last time. We will be having a Landscape premiere at the Story v's Size night next Thursday so it's not all doom and gloom.

Dev Comp...again!

Now I know what you're thinking; wasn't it the Dev Comp a few weeks ago? And you'd be right...but Dave Dave just can't help himself, and as part of Mobility Week, we're back!

Get yourself down the Green this Saturday (20th) and win yourself some prizes. There'll be an under and over 16's comp, then a sponsored jam after. For the under and over 16's, you'll need to sign up before entering, so go see Dave in the shop before 12pm on the day.

Little Max Nerurkar sent over a nice little edit. On asking him where he found the first song, he said a mates mum was driving him somewhere and she had it on in the car, so he nicked the CD! Amazing...

Miracles CAN Happen

Despite all that was against him, Robert Daykin came through and got the video ready on time. Apart from a very worrying 20 minutes of the projector playing up, things went surprisingly smoothly! To say he put it together in literally hours, the boy didn't do too bad!

Also, apologies to resident DJ, Nathan, it turns out chanting 'it's Robert Daykin!' repeatedly down the mic actually DOESN'T make the song sound better?!

Massive thanks to everyone that came along, biggest turn out for a Story vs Size event so far! See you next month!

The Clock Is Ticking

By tomorrow night, many of lifes mysteries will be answered;

- Is it REALLY possibly to edit a full skateboarding video within a couple of days?
- CAN someone have a DVD ready for their premiere when they were STILL on the topic of song choices a couple of days ago?
- IS Robert Daykin EVER going to cut his hair??

Be at The Forum, 9pm, tomorrow to find out.

Over The World

Story Ambassador Dave Dave stepped it up earlier today. Not content with finding a gap or a road to shuv-it heel over, he took it to the next level and tried to jump the whole world. If you felt a strong wind at about 7:30pm tonight, don't worry, it was just Dave.

Webster, Webster AND Cohen (Plus Dev Green update)

It's dry right now so we're planning on going ahead with the Jam so get involved. Kicking off about 12pm. If you need directions call us on 0114 2762303. Now watch this weird Hirst but alright update below and get entered.

It's competition time! Simply name the film that Jerome quotes in the clip above and win a copy of Cool Runnings on DVD. Mail your responses to coolrunningscompetition@ thestorystore.co.uk titling the subject line 'Cool Runnings Competition'*.

Things aren't looking good at all for the Dev Comp YET AGAIN. The same deal will apply as last time, if we get washed out, we'll postpone it for 2 weeks. Which, unfortunately, is looking even more likely than last time. Keep your eye on the weather and, same as last time, ring the shop for definate answers Saturday morning.

*This competition is completely fake

Alicante - The Shawshank Redemption

[YouTube link]

Not your standard edit here, being that it is not MEANT to be particularly good skateboarding! James and Hirst went to stay with Liam Sproat in his temporary hometown of Alicante, so James made an edit out of the offcuts. Watch and enjoy.

In Dev Comp news, it looks like we may have to keep a close eye of the weather again! Though, it's also said rain for the last 3 days and that never happened...so keep your eye on here for the latest. Come on mate, don't do it to us again.

Rain rain go away

The rain just keeps coming but fingers crossed this weekend will be dry enough for this contest to go ahead. It's at Millhouses and it should be pretty cool. If you need a ticket you can get one from us if you come in or The House but you have to enter if you take a ticket. Apologies again for last weekend, we made the call at 9.30am as it was raining and it wouldn't have been what we wanted if we had gone ahead with the day. The date is now the 19th July so no rain dancing near that date.

Sheffield Skateparks - The Holdsworth Redemption

[YouTube link]

In light of the Dev Comp tomorrow, Story friend Josh Holdsworth kindly contributed this edit, featuring Sheffield Skateparks in all their glory. Nice one Josh.

In regards to the comp itself, the weather ain't looking too great. We suggest keeping an eye on the Sheff Weather then ring the shop in the morning before setting off if you're coming from out of town. If we do get rained out, we'll re-arrange it for 2 weeks time (with a comp at Millhouses Skatepark being held next weekend in conjunction with The House Skatepark).

FYI, the shop number is; 0114 2762303

See you tomorrow...hopefully!

News and the lack of

Serious lack of news updates of late, reason being those who know how to do them have been M.I.A and Dave is currently mastering the blogger world. Anyway some news about this Saturday which is the Dev Green comp, though it's more of a Jam with some prizes given out for best tricks on certain obstacles and stuff being given out for other various random reasons. It should be fun if it stays dry. We also plan on having a barbecue outside the store from 5.30 onwards though again this is all weather permitting. If it does rain we may rearrange this for another weekend but we will update you on this so people aren't wasting there time heading over. In other news we have new Story tees in stock, we have S-Haight, Pghlem and the the Love and True designs all on fresh new colors so head down and grab one and get reppng the best and only true skate shop (not including the house obviously) in Sheffield bar none. We will have more news with you later with some new edit courtesy of Josh which will be his debut edit on the Story site, nice one Josh. Tonight is also Size V Story night at The Forum, Safe Nath is DJing and James is showing some video head down for a few.

New Tee's

Ok so we've been quiet of late but that doesn't mean we're not here. The shop is full of stuff at the moment and it's going to be even fuller over this week and next with new colorways in a lot of the Story tees. There's some interesting stuff turning up so peep online or in the store over this week and next to see what takes your fancy.

Also this week is Size V Story again and i believe James of the Shawshank is getting something together (fingers crossed) so head down to that, usual place the forum, more info later today or tomorrow.
